Shareholder Certification

Click here for crop share notification form

Dear Shareholder/Grower:

MDFC was informed on Monday, May 24th that the FSA Offices will no longer be certifying MDFC’s CCC 502 Certification form.

If you have already turned in your properly completed 2004 crop qualification form, or if you are not involved in crop sharing any beet stock with another shareholder, the next paragraph is informational only. The attached form will be required for the 2005 crop year and you may, if you prefer and it would be helpful, re-file for the 2004 crop using the new form, which will be good until your leasing arrangements change.

If you have not completed your 2004 crop qualification certification at this time, you have two options open to you:
1. You may fill out and have signed the enclosed Crop Share Notification form. (No special trip to the FSA office required.)
2. You may bring in a copy of your CCC-502-b form for any crop share of beets and a copy of your CCC-502-c or CCC 502-ez form for any crop share of land.

This letter is a reminder that:
1. Any beet stock leases must be on a crop share basis.
2. Any shareholder who is not personally raising beets must either be crop sharing an acre of land per share leased or actively raising other crops on one acre of land for each share of stock leased. (If your corporation is raising your beets, this applies to you.)
3. Any “side” agreements separately or contained within another lease agreement that makes adjustments based upon the performance of the crop share agreements above are improper and void the crop share status of your beet related leases.

The Board of Directors has determined it will be in the best interests of MDFC to switch to the attached Crop Share Notification form for all lease agreements starting with the 2005 crop. Although the Board of Directors is intending to begin compliance reviews of these agreements beginning with the 2005 crop, they reserve the right to begin compliance reviews for earlier crops if it determines it is in the best interests of the cooperative to do so.

We sincerely regret the inconvenience and confusion generated by the change in our certification process. If you have any questions, please call me at 701-671-1332.

Sincerely,

Allen E Larson
