2010 Harvest Update

Tuesday, September 7:

Afternoon update:

All stations will remain closed Tuesday due to wet conditions. Most of the area picked up 1.0 to 1.5 inches of rain Monday.

The Factory and Lyngaas will open Wednesday at 9:00 am ; on open haul; closing times to be announced at the scalehouse's. Any grower may haul to those stations under open haul status. If Lyngaas would get too busy growers who are hauling there but not assigned there, would have to divert to the factory.

Hawes growers need to contact Jeff Loeks when they can resume harvest and he will reopen up the station.

At the current slice rate we have enough inventory to make it to Friday sunrise. The factory will be going on restricted slice starting Tuesday morning until inventory levels get back to comfortable again.

?? Hawes growers are to contact Jeff Loeks when they can go.

Some key things to remember for this harvest:

  • Growers who exceed their quota will not only forfeit the bonus, they will forfeit the tons delivered once they exceed either the greater of 50 tons or 10% of their quota.
  • Normal station operating hours Starting September will be from 7 am to 3 pm
  • Normal operating parameters will no longer include backing off pilers when the pileground sides are too muddy/sloppy. Grower trucks will be pulled via the Safety Pull system. Trucks without Safety Pulls will have to wait until pileground conditions improve to where they can exit on their own power.

Here are the group listings for the Factory groups for 2010. I have just loaded Windows 7 and the browser software is having issues with  Windows 7. Normally I would be able to list all the groups in a format called Flash paper that you could read or print off. Not so for now. You will have to click on the link and it should open up an Excel spreadsheet. If you don't have Excel don't bother.

Here is a resource to check the validity of Minnesota Drivers licenses.  Minnesota Drivers License Info. I don't know yet if North Dakota has something similar. If I find out I will post it here.

All text message signup's from last year have been purged and you will need to sign up again.

The revised Text Message system is now up and running. All previous numbers have been purged so all will need to sign up once again. To do so go to the MDFC web site and click the "Grower Practice Records" tab or click here Grower Practice Records. Next log in using your log in and password and then click the "Messaging" tab and then follow the instructions. For each account you will need to input a name, phone number (twice) and carrier.

In addition, you will need to select which station/s you wish to receive info from and whether you wish to receive the info year around or just harvest.

You can also enter an email address to receive the same information on your smart phone or computer. We would prefer users with smart phones/phones with email capability to only enter the email address. Emails are free and text messages have a charge associated with them.

To help verify that text message data was input correctly, I will post here when updates have occurred. If you don’t get them we need to take corrective action. One common error during the input process is forgetting to hit the “add” button after entering phone number twice. If you don’t hit the add button and go right to the finish button all your work goes down the drain.
